The Fieldpiece SMG5 is a compact, standalone megohmmeter built for fast HVAC/R insulation testing on compressors, motors and transformers. It applies a 1000VDC test voltage — far higher than a standard multimeter — to reveal insulation breakdown before it causes a failure in the field.
